In Cali though, and someone correct me if I am wrong, don't you have 6 years before you have to smog a new car? Like you wouldn't have to smog your '09 370Z until 2015.

This wouldnt surprise me. NY though, you get the full battery every single year AFTER you buy the vehicle (its inspected at the dealership when you buy a new one).
