In the UK we didn't even have that safety feature of having to put the clutch in first before the car would start, living here is the first time I

In the UK we didn't even have that safety feature of having to put the clutch in first before the car would start, living here is the first time I have ever experienced that feature.
I always leave my car in gear so I always put it in neutral before I start it, force of habbit now since an older car I had didn't have a very good handbrake (e brake) so it couldn't be trusted to keep the car from rolling.
