the yellowish part is a replacement for the stock black PLASTIC piece that has all the force of the entire clutch applied to it. the black plastic base is also being replaced. this assembly is what moves your clutch in and out (instead of the traditional fork) and there are more than a few threads about these things being ticking time bombs. It's french, it's plastic, it has a ton of force applied to it, there is some really shoddy engineering, and an aftermaket clutch can make it go boom in anywhere from a couple hundred to a few thousand miles.

I don't see how they thought it was a good idea to make that part out of plastic, I mean plastic? Really? We're they high? Even with the stock clutch it's going to blow up eventually with a more aggressive driver.
The all metal version is looking good. Keep up the good work!

Bro thanks for being the 1st one to get this done. I'm dying to get a lightweight clutch and flywheel combo but I can't make a move until we get an upgraded csc. I also noticed your sig, are you really serious about making headway on those projects? Are you doing it independently or working with a larger manufacturer??

i'm doing it all independently because i'm a genius i'm interested in working for someone and getting out of the paper industry so i figured why not start on my own. I have access to all the equipment i need it's just time that hurts me and low funding. this is all outta my pocket working late friday night after putting in 50 hour weeks.
I am using the jwt combo the plan is to design my csc to work with the stock setup and then add a bearing sleeve like z speeds for DE clutches so you would have choices if the thing ever gets sold.

awesome man, I'm sure if you build as good as a part as your confident you can an aftermarket company will run with it since you saved them the R&D. Good luck and keep us posted. Btw I'm interested in what is it you do for those 50 hours a week?

I'm a jack of all trades when it comes to machining. I program, tool, setup, run, and maintain a 15yr. old POS vmc (vertical maching center) that can barely hold tolerance, making parts that are high tolerance (+-.005 down to +0.0000-.0003). The machine i currently run is a Lagunamatic with a dynapath conversational control, but i also have experience running Haas and bridgeport CNC's as well as programming with the latest version of mastercam. I can also run manual engine lathes, manual surface and cylindrical grinders, manual mills, and boring bars. I currently work in the paper industry for a company that makes machines that finish distributables (like the paper all your bills and paychecks are printed on, we make the machine the cuts and perforates the sheets) as well as HP's new line of huge inkjet printers (like newspaper or magazine size). I also do fixture making, and i'm the kind of guy the engineers like because i have very good understanding of their job and if you hand me a part i can figure out how it works and how to redesign it to make it beefier (the paper industry is all about making the baddest beefiest most reliable machine you can, we don't believe in planned obsolescence because when you pay what you do for these machines the customer is always pushing the performance on them to make them as productive as possible and you can lose a contract because of downtime). Really i'm addicted to machines and mechanical things so i spend most of my time working on something rather than say pursuing a personal life.
Edit sorry the grammar is bad it's a long list and really only looks good with bullets in resume form.
