Yeah, I've noticed that too. A click at the very top of pedal travel. Seems to be more pronounced when it's hot. I don't notice it in the morning after it's sat in the cool garage, but when I leave work, after it's been sitting in the sun for 9 hours, I really notice it.

Think it's normal. Our clutch seems to be pretty noisy for a stock setup. Kind of odd, with the cold-startup noise, the clicking, and a lot of engagement noise...

thanks coaster and DanGizinski;

To be clear I am talking about a click not the clunk; This click also happens when the car is not on... and If I engage the clutch...

I just learned to accept this feature we have with our cars :-) But yes, I feel a click. I only get the clunk on the 1->2 gear change.

ok thanks. I agree clunk is 1->2 at low RPMs...

does your click happen even if the car is not on? how many miles do you have on the car?

also is this related? (clicking sound at low speed?)

thanks,
-jay

no, actually this was caused by lack of lubrication in the rear axles, which was remedied by the dealer lubricating it under warranty. however, i do occationally get a faint click from the clutch near the top of its travel. on the other hand, the brake pedal makes multiple clicks throughout its range of travel. i have no idea what causes it. i may try to take apart the pedal assembly and lube it with wd 40 or whatever and see what happens.

yeah, some clicking sound that seems to be coming from the pedal assembly itself. it's almost like the sound of a ratchet when you turn it. i inspected it and nothing seems out of the ordinary. when i have time, i'll probably try and take the pedal apart and inspect it in more detail and probably lube it, though the service manual says to remove the entire steering column in order to remove the brake pedal

My 350z had the same click sound in the clutch. If its like my old 350 then its the safety for disengaging cruise control that you hear.

The clicking sound is the sound of all the beautiful unicorns and ponnies under the hood. The louder it gets the happier they are, you are one lucky driver!

can you explain? my clicks will happen even if the car is not on.... so cruise control is not in the picture at that time...

are others able to recreate the sound with the car no on?
