i'm actually just waiting on the magnetic oil drain plug and my filter magnet. i have everything else. i ordered everything i needed earlier this week, and i get a package everyday from amazon, its like christmas everyday after work.

I had to pick up something from the dealer yesterday, so i just bought a quart of ester oil that they had their b/c i didn't feel like stopping somewhere else to save 3-4 bucks, i put that in, now i'm at just about the 'H' on the dipstick.

i got my oil filter today in the mail. i didn't realize how small it was. I was picturing something about the size of a large can of progresso soup, its like a small can of campbels, i got the hp-1008 K&N

After I completed the first oil change on our car with a Mobil 1 filter, I learned the M1-110 (K&N HP-1010 equivalent) is a larger capacity alternative to the M1-108 or HP-1008. There really aren't many downsides (if any at all in our application) to using a larger oil filter, so I'd say go with the larger one next time.

Bigger isn't always better. They can have different working pressure and flow characteristics. Remember Mobil's filter is used on a bunch of Nissan cars, yet Nissan have their own filters for 3L, 3.5L and 3.7L or even different types of VQ

Different oil filters from different manufacturers have different flow characteristics anyway ;)

The pressure relief is specified as the same between the HP-1010 and the HP-1008 by K&N... I had a go at looking up the specs for both and they're identical save the filter length.
