In a hot climate the only thing that would hurt you with 15W30 oil would be start up wear. Once up to operating temperature the 15W30 and 5W30 would be about the same viscosity and the 15W30 would be slightly more stable at higher temperatures. But best to stick close to the recommended in case there are any warranty issues.
