My 370z vs 08 Evo X vs z06
So, my buddy just bought a used 08 Evo X and we were talking about how our cars would do in a quarter mile drag race. My 370z is all stock and his Evo X is all stock. I know that I am putting 280whp and 232wtq. From some research, a stock Evo X is only putting down 230whp. I think I would pull on his Evo. What do you guys think?
My other buddy has a 2001 Corvette z06 that is all stock and is putting down 318whp and 318wtq. He wants to run too. We'd be hooking up at a track pretty soon. |

Factory performance figures for the 405 hp (302 kW) version of the Z06 give an acceleration time from 0-60 mph as 3.9 seconds. Owner-drivers have reportedly achieved quarter-mile times of 11.7[2][3] and 11.85 [4]seconds. Car and Driver recorded 1/4 mile times of 12.4 seconds for the 405 hp (302 kW) Z06 and 12.7 seconds for the 385 hp (287 kW) Z06 In their December 2002 issue. Quarter mile drag times are a result of multiple factors including "Driver Skill" or "Driver Aggressiveness" (gear shift timing and optimum shift points) which account for variations in timings. The Z06 is capable of matching or besting the 0-60 acceleration times of some of the world's premier sports cars, including the BMW Z8, Ferrari 360, and Porsche 911 Turbo (Type 996).
Don't think you will beat the Z06....Thats a fact jack. I think I might be able to rip him a new one though

You might be a cvnt hair faster than the Evo in a straight line (actually, Top Gear bested the Evo around the track too), but the Vette will probably kill you by up to a full second.

IMO the 370Z and evo will be close on take off cuz of the 4x4 exo and the 370z should pull about half way do to more overall HP, im guessing 3rd. the evo might have a little better take off.
the fast back 5.0 stands no chance against either of you. look at the 3rd generation and the last line. they were rated at 225 but downgraded: Ford Mustang - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia like wishihadnav said...IF he is stock he will lose. you should still be ok if he has bolt ons. I guess you'll find out yourself. good luck Last edited by destinyZ; 08-10-2010 at 09:36 PM. |

you should be pretty even with the EVO X, the corvette no, get some NOS and maybe :P
it'll be a good test of skill, make sure you capture it on video, and hopefully it'll entice you to start modding your stock Z :P

Just pray when he said he was "stock" that he's being 100% honest because he could be tuned and you'd never know (until you raced him).

From what I've seen the z06 will smoke you if he knows how to drive his car. However, the c5 z06's weren't the most dominant car of their time. The 2003-2004 Mustang Cobra with minimal mods smoked it badly and consistently.
