This is not true. The SRT-4 is ECU limited to 185999 miles per second, thats one mile per second less than the speed of light. Dodge engineers were concerned that if the SRT-4 went any faster (which it easily could in 4th, I believe) its mass would become infinite and would rip a hole in spacetime, creating a singularity that would end mankind's existence as we know it.

I hear they are using repo'd SRT-4 engines at CERN...but they are still on low boost.

Indeed. The story line of the up and coming "24" movie has Jack Bauer chasing a terrorist cell that has gained control of an SRT-4 ECU tuner. If he doesn't catch them in time, they will remove the speed limiter and destroy the universe as we know it.

Well according to past post the vdc even though turned off, is still actually running at about 10%. I have went through the trouble of pulling up the center console and unplugging the module itself. That way you can be sure it's 100% off. My car has been like this for about 4 months with no issues.

You're the first guy I've heard of who's done this. Does the car feel different with the module unplugged than when you just turned off the VDC with the switch?

I personally believe that if you sell a sports car like this that anyone that even speaks the word "limiter" in the development phase should be immediately executed on the spot :stirthepot: that being said there are only 2 on the car that concern me, i couldnt care less about the rev limiter as it actually aids against stupid people blowing up the engine. But the top speed limiter (155mph) and the WOT control (wide open throttle/0-60 acceleration limiter) are a complete waste on a genuine sports car.....

I can understand maybe putting these on the base or touring models, but i have a nismo for Christs sake!! lol thats like going to Iraq, getting an M16 handed to you and saying "you know what? i only want 5 rounds in each of my clips" then proceeding to take out the other 25 in each clip and throw them away.

If anyone knows or has particular skill in reprogramming these cars w/o the aid of a crazy fat wallet it would be most helpful..... and im sure im not the only one frustrated with it :P

You have to understand that the vehicle's stock tires can only withstand 165 mph, so the engineers utilize what is called a factor of safety to keep stupid people with no sense of their vehicle's component's capabilities alive.

If you want to go faster than 155mph, pay to have it removed and upgrade your tires...

lol i have Bridgestone Potenza RE050A and there rated "Y" which is 186mph which is probably a little faster then the Z is AERODYNAMICALLY limited too, but then.... no one knows b/c the only ones that have tampered with the limiter have also usually super or turbo charged the car... thus ruining any chance of seeing what it can do naturally aspirated. Dont get me wrong... im putting a stillin super charger on it later this year, but arent you curious even just a bit? I mean your paying for it right? why not get the full experience.

Sounds like you have the sport package. The base model only has a W rating as far as I know, which is only good to 168 mph...

I had been wondering where that was and if it could be unplugged because i hate turning it off.

So much hate for the SRT-4? I love mine, I just wish people would not have given these impressions to so many!
