Engine Oil: Let's vote on it.

Please vote for sub 5,000 miles and post 5,000 miles and first oil change. Based on my in depth internet research I'm voting:

sub 5k: Nissan branded Ester Engine Oil

post 5k: Amsoil

first oil change: 1350 miles.

Please vote. I'll tally the score periodically.:happydance:

Yes, we need another oil discussion fueled by a bunch of conjecture and meaningless UOA results.

Really, unless you're running a built engine or building your own engine to specific specs, it doesn't matter. Any oil labeled as "synthetic" is more than good enough for street use.

And **** AMSOIL. Bunch of marketing ********. Laboratory oil "wear" tests are so skewed that any manufacturer that relies on them for marketing ought to be immediately discredited in any enthusiast's mind.

That said, I still haven't decided what synthetic to run in the Z once we hit 4000 miles. *shrugs* It's between Pennzoil Ultra (just want to try it out), Red Line, or just plain old Mobil 1.

Kill me now.

By the way, which cold air intake do you guys think is best?

And I resent the Chicago comment...

I grab seagulls and twist the oil out of them, like a wet rag.

There's an unlimited supply of free oil in your local Walmart parking lot. You just need to suck it up..
