Can you get to 400 without turbo or super-charger

That's cheating Seriously though, it could be done with an aggressive tune (including VVEL...), and that re-worked bottom end GTM was talking about.

Not to the wheels.

Maybe 330 - 340 whp (on a dynojet) with EVERYTHING (including pulleys and LTH) with VVEL tuning.

On that note, by my reckoning, 332ish on a dynojet is around 400 crank.

Isn't Trip's at around that hp at the wheels? I don't think he has MAJOR work done to the engine.

N/A on a dynojet?

Maybe with a very generous correction factor and cold weather...

I honestly can't see how anyone could get better than 315 - 325 to the tire on a dynojet with every possible bolt on and a tune and STD correction, and a nice cool day...

But, I'm open to being proven wrong...

Yup, that dyno is very generous and is known to read a bit high. But still, 320-330rwhp in this car is already quite nice without upsetting the balance of the car.

I really don't see what's wrong with the 315-330 that some people get tbh... the Z is also fairly easy to lose weight with... a low 12 second car with the available NA mods and some 4.08 gears .... what's wrong with that? Lose a little extra weight and maybe a very high 11 second car possibly? Who knows with the right driver.

11's aren't happening NA unless you are doing things like removing the doors.

Keep in mind that Mustang dynos can read either high or low relative to dynojets (i.e., may either break hearts or lift spirits depending on the settings...), so I wouldn't bet the farm on coming out higher on a dynojet...

Still, no harm in trying. If it can be done, please share the details on the work you've done to get there

On that note, I'd wait until summer time is over. The heat and humidity right now is absolutely crushing and you will dyno lower no matter what correction factor you use.

Also, I just thought about it, why not bore and stroke? Make the car either a 3.8 or a 3.9 (or if you're crazy, a 4.0) and THEN go for more power. Obviously the 3.8 parts are already around.

I know what you mean about having the power when you want it, but a good turbo setup doesn't have to take forever to spool. In fact, with a lightweight flywheel the turbos spool a bit quicker, and to make the 400-500whp mark, you don't need big turbos, so they'd spool even faster.

Just a thought.

i was reading the owners manual the other day, i was pretty sure the displacement is near 3.8 already. Its like 3.783 or something. I could be wrong...
