Default request.

Hi,

I wanted to request all the expert drivers out there... to do a write up on best methods for smooth shifting.....

maybe this can become a sticky ? if we get a good write up. I learned to drive a stick late last year but its completely different form the z and my shifting in the Z is not smooth most of the times when driving on inside roads. I know its not because of the Z i just need more practice but if ppl had any tips / advice that would be great I think...

Thanks,

Just drive the car man. Don't slip the clutch, it is not a huge difficult method to operating a manual transmission smoothly. Shift points play into the factor too, being lower in the RPM band it is smoother. But you said it best your self with your last sentence...practice

It really just takes practice. There's a thread in the general forums now that touches on shifting tips, but it's really hard to put into words how to work your hand/foot in a way that best suits your car and your driving methods.

Practice and your body will learn itself how to drive with little error.

First, turn the VDC off.

Sorry, that's just cruel.
