370z TT is on a distinguished road
Default Engine swap

I've been looking at options for turbocharging the 370z, but I would need to get a whole new engine block for the power levels I want to achieve. On the gtm website it says that a 4.5 liter stroker engine would be needed for 700rwhp and I was thinking why not just put a different engine that would be cheaper to modify. Would there be any good engine to fit in there and I am thinking V8 or a more race ready engine like an rb26dett. Would this also solve cooling issues?

Why do you need a stroker kit for 700whp? You can build up your existing 3.7L bottom end and achieve 700whp with the right turbos.

I too have been wanting more power. I would like to go FI but am worried about longevity issues and wondering why you don't see more people strengthening the bottom end. It seems it would be cheaper to do swap with an engine that already has 450 to 500 hp than it would be to FI the VQ and hope for the best.

Why spend another $40-grand or more modding the 370Z - just go buy an R35 ............ professional engineers have already solved all the problems - unless of course you want to throw your hard-earned at a shop that will already be salivating at the amount of money they can gouge out of you !!

same reason why its fun to build a GTR that can burn a bugati veryron. Its fun to build a car that is faster than cars that should be faster than it.

Well the 3.7L is "newer" and people are going to throw forced induction on first, slowly build up the boost and find the limits of this engine and then start building it out. I would love to build the motor and TT/SC, but one thing at a time.

370z TT pay close attention to my build in the FI thread since I am the first to build the motor and TT. Expect to pay $13k+ for just the motor alone if your going the same route as me. Feel free to ask questions in my thread as well and Sam can answer ur questions.
