Transmission

I have an automatic Transmission, i have noticed when it shifts into either 6th or 7th (not positive) there is a bit of an up rev, nothing huge the rpm's seem to tick up just a touch and you can hear it rev slightly. Is this normal for the 370, its still pretty new to me, just want to make sure.

Thanks all!

why is 7th not positive?

And I havent noticed this with mine.

he did do it once when I was on the track and he was going limp and I went from 4th to 5th and during the shift the revs flew up about 500 revs

I was saying I was not positive if it was up reving while going into 6th OR 7th

I notice when shifting from 6th into 7th at a low rpm the transmission will not lock right away. The reason I noticed it was when making the 6th to 7th shift the rpm would go up slightly if I get out of the throttle the rpm will drop back down 200rpm or so quickly like it is allowing for a little slip. I think it’s a stall feature to keep the rpm high enough for the gear you selected. Is this what you experienced?

However when I make an up shift at higher rpm say 4500 I get a much better lock in the transmission no slip. The higher the rpm when up shifting the harder the shift or transmission lock.

Exactly what I experienced, and I too noticed it does not happen when at a higher RPM.

I am going forward assuming this is normal.

Thanks for the reply.
