For the record, I love auto!
The only reason I bought my Z is because it was Canadian model(as I live in Canada)
A 40th anniversary fully loaded with every possible option available at the time for our cars.

U don't believe me.............. just ask my wife!! 4 years+ and she still hounds me that its manual:shakes head:

Guys...........listen to your wife if you want to buy cars:tiphat:

Understand how a torque converter works and you will answer your question. Automatic transmission w/ converter is not to be confused with an auto-shifting dual clutch manual - that would beat a manual shift manual transmission every time.

Especially when you tune the line pressures in the 7AT trans. Quick, Solid shift..

That the MT is faster! I guess my car isn't a good car to compare because we have adjusted the 7AT and its supercharged, but I promise you can't shift that fast.

flying hot into a corner ok?? you're at 150mph.....?
you need to drop your speed to 60mph......?

Here is the ultimate question.....???

Which transmission will get you there quicker..........??

1) hard breaking in an auto............???
2) hard breaking with hard down shifting in a manual...........???

The only ones that can answer this are the one's that have experienced this....

NO FN WAY AN AUTO CAN DO THIS

you realize you can down shift the auto as well right?

it has the same rev match system as the manual.

i'll put money on that the AT can come down in speed just as fast if not faster than the 6mt.

Just because you use facts doesn't mean you're right!

sorry buddy. sometimes you just gotta let the facts and figures beat out people hard on for a manual transmission lol

it's 2015 and the MT is no longer the dominant factor in a performance car and people just cant handle it.

(insert joker everyone loses their mind meme here....blocked at work :( )

Has the automatic transmission changed since 2009?

not that i'm aware of no. the only thing that may have changed is the TCM tuning from factory.

but any person tuning your car with uprev can adjust the tranny line pressure settings to make shifts harder.

I'm firmly in the manual camp as far as preference and don't ever plan on buying an auto. That said, if a manual was faster around a road course, F1 would still be using one. Granted they aren't slush boxes, but Formula 1 started dropping regular H pattern manuals in 1989. As far as a drag race goes, who gives a crap how fast a car is in a straight line.

Automatics are awesome, don't get me wrong. However, owning an automatic is like that last interview with one of the Telsa employee's. "My self-driving cars may lead to human driver ban, says Tesla's Musk". Talk about fall asleep behind the wheel. At least with a Manual, I can stay awake.
