Good grief. Drive what you're gonna drive.

AT is fine. It shifts quick and the driver is still engaged in the driving process when using the paddles or stick.

MT is lots of fun, for sure, but not exactly rocket science.

To each their own.

:gtfo2: with that non-confrontational :bs:

I guess that makes sense considering you post on this forum using smoke signals :icon17:

Yes but those cars are still manuals. They have something a 370z automatic does not, and are missing something that a 370z automatic does have. That makes all the difference.

And that would be...?

A solid connection to the axle? Yes, the Z has full lockup after 2nd gear.

A Veloceter has a dual-clutch trans, and it is slow to change gears and performs poorly.

I guess I did need to revisit my "perceived manual-ness" point a bit after all...

Let's look at this another way: All "real" sports cars will soon be gone, except for older models.

So, either your view on this will change, you will stop buying new sports cars, because of their lack of purity, and/or you will eventually baffle and annoy your kids or grandkids about why their lame (but likely very fast and less polluting) cars sorely need an extra pedal to matter.

If Jeremy Clarkson, commentator, car aficionado, and all around nob could learn to stop complaining bout "flappy paddles", then anyone can...

FPenvy 05-05-2016 03:53 PM

honestly if someone in here hasn't driven the 370 7AT their opinion is no where near valid......at all.

I've driven many paddle shifted ATs and most are fuckin garbage. the Z's is actually really good.

AT > MT :stirthepot:

Put it this way, IMO if you never track then 7AT is great for city driving...

But for track, 6MT gives the most control

Have you ever tracked a 370Z with a 7AT? What kind of control is it missing? I can't think of anytime on the track that a MT would have made things better. I will give you they are cheaper to upgrade but that's not performance.

I mean, the 6MT clearly will have more precise shifts and rev matching. Im not saying its faster at all but definitely more precise with gearing.

Especially so, when the car is presented with a bunch of constant feedback/shifting/braking/accel the 6MT is more precise just based on how a manual tranny works vs automatic....now if the Z had the GTR tranny would be different.

But yeah, its not any faster...and definitely more for fun and driving pleasure than anything.

Also, 6MT gets all the bitches and hoes and gets panties wet lol

Lol,I'm married with kids so the bitches and hoes thing doesn't matter to me! The 7AT also has the rev match but what kind of MT purest would use technology like rev matching? You don't want the fun of heal toeing? There is nothing sloppy about this 7AT if it's tuned right.
