We're talking about the transmission. The clutch is outside the transmission. Do we need to grab a diagram from how it works from you so you'll understand?

Also, a CSC replacement is not that hard and not very expensive either. Thats the beauty of working on a manual tranny. You can always get a new clutch, flywheel, csc, etc...

Good luck working on your automatic.

I'm not any less safe with a 6MT.

You don't change gears through a corner, that's a big no-no. Always two hands on the wheel when cornering.

Good points. I replaced the slave cylinder with the Z1 in my garage for $400. No prior experience. Even the buddy I enlisted to lead the project had never actually removed a transmission himself. Two full days over a weekend and no issues whatsoever. I would want some different tools to do it again, but we managed with just a floor jack, some jack stands, and a $120 HF transmission jack.

You mean like that crappy flex plate that comes in your shitty AT? We can go back and forth one for one on all components "OUTSIDE" the transmission but if we compare just the transmission itself there is no comparison on the ability to hold power. MT >>> AT

still doesn't make it a better option. stock for stock it'll fail just the same with added power. might take a little more but it will fail.

It'll hold at least an extra 100wtq before failing. That's a huge percentage and not 'fail just the same with added power'. It'll hold more power before it fails. That's a win!

I never argue the points that are clearly in the ATs favor but you always seem to argue about the points that are clearly in the MTs favor.

Thats the point, its a few hundred bucks and some DIY and your 6MT is good again. I dont know why people get so worried about the CSC thing, its just not a big deal.

Beats trying to fix an automatic. And yeah, shifting mid turn is a nono. But you may feel different about that since auto puts power down differently.

Unless it goes out in the middle of Summer in Phoenix and you're in traffic, in your nice dress clothes and you have to push your car out of the middle lane through said traffic...

That's my fear.

My fear was driving out to do an inspection at some random Texas Parks Wildlife Management Area out in the middle of nowhere in West Texas and having it fail on some back country road with no traffic or cell service. Glad I don't have to worry about that any more
