Oil cooler will go with the turbos next year. I'm in KS and it's less than 50F in the morning. After extended period of driving, the car still bogs, and the temps hover around 200F. O_o

If you guys stay N/A and get the oil cooler, please let me know how it goes. I'm not quite buying the oil temperature problem if it's under 200F and cutting power. However, I do understand power cutting after 220F.

agreed, especially after today when I experienced the problem in FULL at 200F.

Sorry it took me so long to post...

I went to the dealership on Monday, 11/1. I let them have the car for the day. I told them there was a serious lack of throttle response at low RPM's, kind of like the car is in 3rd gear, when actually in first. I also made it clear that this happens after an indeterminate amount of time.. sometimes 5 miles, sometimes 10+. The tech wasn't available the instant, so we couldn't go for a ride. They finally ended up calling me back telling me I could take my car back. The report said "checked for codes, none stored. Test drive with no problems. Test drive 2 other like vehicles, normal operation". So I went to the service manager and said if I experience the problem right now, can I bring it back and have the tech ride with me? He said sure, I'll pull him aside immediately. I had to drive almost 16 miles before the problem would show itself. I immediately went back, did NOT turn the car off, and had the tech drive. He said he could feel it (I know I could, even in the passenger seat). He also told me that the other 2 cars that he drove (one '09 identical color, and one '10) he replicated it. But since there aren't any errors, and the multi-point inspection was fine, there "technically" wasn't a problem. And he wouldn't re-write the diagnosis on the report.

Anyway, come today, I finally got a chance to call Nissan consumer affairs (1-800-NISSAN1). He documented my case, and said they were going to contact the dealership that I went to. I told him in detail what the problem was again. He also said they would get back to me in hopefully 1 business day! I will update when I hear back. I will give them until Wednesday afternoon, then I will call them back if I haven't heard from them yet.

ANYWAY... to ALL who are having the problem.. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE contact your dealership to have it documented, then call Nissan consumer affairs. This issue NEEDS to be addressed, and this is the only way to get it done.

Hypertech Tuner can allow you to over ride the throttle lag and make it instant.

forgot the proper terms for what its called.

If you're referring to something like what the SprintBooster does (throttle remapping), that isn't the problem here.

Had something similar happen for the first time today.

Coming out of a sharp on-ramp I pulled for downshift from 4 to 3 and pressed throttle aggressively, but not WOT. Car started to rev, stumbled for half a second and then took off.

Not what you want when pulling into traffic, fortunately nothing was coming too close or fast.

An incident like this is what made me go to Nissan about it. It was an annoyance until then.

I reiterate... anyone with this issue PLEASE go to Nissan about it. Contact your local dealer first if possible, then contact Nissan Consumer Affairs at: 1.800.NISSAN1

UPDATE: I actually received a call from Nissan Consumer Affairs (I didn't call them back, THEY actually called ME!). I got a rep who stated she was in charge of my case, and was currently waiting on a response back from my local dealer service manager. She said to expect a call back by Friday, and if not, feel free to call them. Working with them has been a pleasure so far. But we'll see what the outcome is.

Also, I started a new thread to track anyone that goes to Nissan about the issue, if you want to share your stories: Throttle Delay at low RPM

Question Throttle mapping

Having the same issue as indicated on all previous pages. Seems the computer tracks how far and how quick I depress the accelerator pedal. If I push it quickly all the way to the floor, I only get hesitation at the point where the torque drops between 2k and 3k, as web site dynos have shown to exist. Otherwise, I get the same overall hesitation as everyone else. Makes sense that a throttle remapping would correct this.

I'm pretty sure this is not temperature related at all now. =(
No positive feedback yet either. Very discouraging.

I wonder if torque management has anything to do with the issues we're having. I read that TM cuts power on cars and trucks to protect certain aspects like preventing oversteer on earlier gears, transmission, etc. With our car, TM kicks in when our oil temps get too high. However, it appears TM may have something to do with power cutting under 3k RPM.

I wonder if any of the tuners can chime in about TM and whether it can be defeated.

Are you serious? There is such a thing called Torque Management?? My God, how many damn electronic aids do we need. Pretty soon we're going to have cars that drive themselves and know where you're going before you do.

Has anyone still been experiencing the problem? Weather has still been warm, and was having it until last Tuesday. I changed the oil, and haven't felt it since! I have 800+ miles on this oil (went on a trip), used the SAME oil (red line 5W30) and SAME filter (K&N, forget model). BUT I haven't had it... very interesting. That kind of sucks because I have an appointment with Nissan again on Friday with some tech specialist guy.
