Hypertech Tuner can allow you to over ride the throttle lag and make it instant.

forgot the proper terms for what its called.

If you're referring to something like what the SprintBooster does (throttle remapping), that isn't the problem here.

Had something similar happen for the first time today.

Coming out of a sharp on-ramp I pulled for downshift from 4 to 3 and pressed throttle aggressively, but not WOT. Car started to rev, stumbled for half a second and then took off.

Not what you want when pulling into traffic, fortunately nothing was coming too close or fast.

An incident like this is what made me go to Nissan about it. It was an annoyance until then.

I reiterate... anyone with this issue PLEASE go to Nissan about it. Contact your local dealer first if possible, then contact Nissan Consumer Affairs at: 1.800.NISSAN1

UPDATE: I actually received a call from Nissan Consumer Affairs (I didn't call them back, THEY actually called ME!). I got a rep who stated she was in charge of my case, and was currently waiting on a response back from my local dealer service manager. She said to expect a call back by Friday, and if not, feel free to call them. Working with them has been a pleasure so far. But we'll see what the outcome is.

Also, I started a new thread to track anyone that goes to Nissan about the issue, if you want to share your stories: http://www.the370z.com/engine-drivet...y-low-rpm.html

Throttle mapping

Having the same issue as indicated on all previous pages. Seems the computer tracks how far and how quick I depress the accelerator pedal. If I push it quickly all the way to the floor, I only get hesitation at the point where the torque drops between 2k and 3k, as web site dynos have shown to exist. Otherwise, I get the same overall hesitation as everyone else. Makes sense that a throttle remapping would correct this.

I'm pretty sure this is not temperature related at all now. =(
No positive feedback yet either. Very discouraging.

I wonder if torque management has anything to do with the issues we're having. I read that TM cuts power on cars and trucks to protect certain aspects like preventing oversteer on earlier gears, transmission, etc. With our car, TM kicks in when our oil temps get too high. However, it appears TM may have something to do with power cutting under 3k RPM.

I wonder if any of the tuners can chime in about TM and whether it can be defeated.

Are you serious? There is such a thing called Torque Management?? My God, how many damn electronic aids do we need. Pretty soon we're going to have cars that drive themselves and know where you're going before you do.

Has anyone still been experiencing the problem? Weather has still been warm, and was having it until last Tuesday. I changed the oil, and haven't felt it since! I have 800+ miles on this oil (went on a trip), used the SAME oil (red line 5W30) and SAME filter (K&N, forget model). BUT I haven't had it... very interesting. That kind of sucks because I have an appointment with Nissan again on Friday with some tech specialist guy.

DIGItonium 11-30-2010 08:28 PM

It has been cold, and I still feel the car holding back power under 3k RPM regardless of oil temperature. Mine barely hits 180F all day. The feeling is rough as I progressively press down the pedal.

import111 11-30-2010 11:56 PM

I am still having the delay issue. Even if ambient temps are 40's and oil temp is 180 I still get the delay sometimes, but not all the time...which makes it suck that much more.

6spd 12-01-2010 06:13 AM

hasnt happened to me except for the one time i got the oil temp past 230. i wonder if we compare vins, if there is a certain stretch that has the issue?

Have you checked your fuel rail (injectors) or your fuel pump...if it was a Carb it almost sounds like vapor lock??:tiphat:
