Blow-off valve
Hey there guys, I originally come from the family of Subaru and their STi. It was a real blast for me to hear the sound of a blow-off valve when riding in my old one. But now that I own a Nismo, does anyone use a blow-off valve here? I'm completely clueless on "rules" of 370s and blow-off valve. So please try not to hate.

Yes.. I understand you need a turbo for a BoV.. Maybe I'm not being clear enough? I'm asking if anyone here has installed a BoV, and what it sounds like/ performance output, and such information would be helpful. Thanks though, sorry if I'm not getting my point through.

Sure..... We can install a blow off valve for you, hell... even two of them if you would like.
In fact, we are having a special, Buy the blow off valve(s) for $11,499 and receive a free twin turbo kit.... installed. Either way, welcome to the 370Z world and congrats on the Nismo. Last edited by Scott @ RA; 06-09-2010 at 05:41 AM. |

so yea. the BOV are a cool sound, but thats because of the function they serve on a turbocharged car. You know a car is running PSI when you hear that sound so you know its being boosted and therefore faster than its Naturally aspirated counterpart. Just how a loud exhaust sounds cool on a sports car because you know its got some power, you think it sounds dumb on a 98 sentra b.c it isn't fast or powerful, and probably just has a hole in the muffler. If someone heard the whoosh of a BOV on your car they'd think you had a turbo. Theyd ask you what kind of PSI you were running and you'd say you just had a fake one, and they'd laugh. Its all about fuction. You have to earn those BOV's by having a TT installed.

I am running a HKS BOV and I have mine set to recirculate back to the intakes. You still hear the bov, but it's not super loud. If I drove by you and switched gears I doubt you would even hear it. I guess it depends if you want more sound, or if you want better performance. But first things, first get a turbo kit then decide how you want your BOV to vent.
