Voided Warranty?
So, I'm slowly narrowing my options of oil. I've noticed that Redline oil is not API certified. Does this bother anyone with regards to warranty issues? Doesn't the owners manual state that while the Nissan Ester is not required, you need to use an API approved oil of the proper weight (5w-30)?

Granted, they'd have to test that oil and determine it's not API certified. You also wouldn't have to tell them it's Redline and it's not API certified...but then again, doing such a heinous act would make Baby Jesus cry. |
lmao, using different oil void the warrenty? If a dealership actualy voids the warrenty cuz of different type of oil, they dont deserve your buisness. Hell my dealership still uses my warrenty and i have intakes and nitrous and redline oil.

In any case, I've used Mobil1 for years, and I have no reason to change. I've even sent a few to Blackstone for testing - but none for the Z yet, as the oil in it isn't old enough on it's first change (@ 1200) |
OK, I'll have some clarified butter put in my Z. I'll gain 200 lb-in of torque! :)

API seems like a good baseline, so if these other oils are as fantastic as they claim, then why not get the cert? |
