VDC off

I read a mag artical while i was in the field with the army. It was about compairing a supercharged 350 vs twin turbo 370z. In the artical it said one of the things that were a PITA was the VDC on the 370z. They turned it off but like we all know it still has abit of control. They pulled fuses and everything and it still kicked in during heavy loads and tight turns. They mentioned there is a wire or something by the handbreak (under the center console) that has to be unplugged to kill the VDC 100%. I dont feel like going out and looking but does anyone know what wire or device they are talking about, im trying to find the artical now to post it.

Edit: Before anyone starts flaming me about having VDC off, i only turn it off when i race...really sucks when you take off and it cuts abit of power.

Are you sure you are not experiencing fuel cut when taking turns? I have tracked my car and with it off have not really felt it kick in...

There is a Bosch modulator just in front of the e-brake, you need to unplug that one.

no its the VDC, the display comes up even though i have VDC off. It usally kicks in during my burnouts, launches and shifts when i race at the drag strip, i want the system off 100% so i have full control.

It does not matter that the lines come up - they will no matter what if the car detects slip - if its kicking on / off is up to you the driver to determine

To kill the traction control you have to open up your mid-console and rip out a Bosch modulator. That's not in the FM...

However with street tires and LSD it doesn't really seem to be an issue at the auto-x. There typically isn't enough traction to lift the inside wheel to the point that it will spin freely so instead both wheels spin when you juice it in a corner. With sticky race tires it is a different story, and I've had the traction control intervene when trying to accelerate out of a corner. It's a little annoying but the intervention isn't that painful.

So yes, traction control is still on partially, but it only intervenes if there is a large differential in speed between the 2 rear wheels. You can still do burnouts and donuts to your hearts content if that is your thing.

Oh yea - that makes sense... thanks for pointing it out - silly of nissan. We should really wire up a bypass that is linked to the VDC button...

I want to do this as well, just wire a switch in to turn off the yaw module. Anybody know of a DIY for this? I am assuming I can just wire a switch directly into the power source cable for the BOSCH device...
