Nice find. That's exactly what I was thinking of. I think the Nissan OEM intake system is good, but even with drop-in filters it will probably become restrictive to moderately or heavily modified 370Zs.

Looks like a dead alligator.

COBB... hmmm... Crack the VVEL and get some canned maps already. No more of this "we're almost there!" that we've been getting for a year.

we all really want a really nice tunning solution. if you can get the vvel hammered out, at least a protuner release, and then maybe add a box to it that could do what the turboxs utec does only make it so it doesn't break easily or stop working. these cars really need F.I. and features like the built in boost control, extra solenoid control, the 2 step rev limiter/launch control, ability to add a map sensor for high boost, and some of the other features the utec had were great if only the damn thing lasted more than a year.

so far as engine parts, bigger radiator or some add on radiators would be nice, maybe some bigger rails that could come with some extra ports for a gauge, and some nice hard pipe assemblies that could let you run either singe or return line with a fuel pressure regulator(and the little pieces that go in the pump assembly to make that happen). for the single line it would be nice if it cleaned up the stock fuel lines in the engine bay so you could just pull the old stuff, pop on the new rails, screw the new hard pipes into the back of the rails, screw the regulator onto that and then have the factory fitting for the stock line so that just snaps in. for the twin rails it would be nice to have a packaged kit that had new larger lines, pump, sending unit adapters, regulator and all the fittings needed so you could just have the kit shipped to your garage and put it on in one day without having to order/cut lines or install fittings.

if you could make a gauge and harness combo that could use the factory wide band sensors that would be awesome, as its a waste to not be able to tap into the factory 5v front o2 sensors, and have to install bungs, and adding another sensor to the car. also nice dash 4 gauge cluster panel that could easily go in place of the useless cubby would be freakin awesome(as well as a good seller)

it was a list of stuff they could make and tell ya what most of those items are going to be on the list of anyone with plans for a good FI setup. so for not knowing that there are more than a few z owners with high horsepower goals i give you the

Crack VVEL, first and foremost.

As for these cars "needing FI". I'm throwing the BS flag. I still believe we can make 400+ Flywheel HP NA. Don't get me wrong, turbo cars are the most fun you can have behind the wheel, but even the best systems add weight and maintenance headaches. You should also consider that the stock torque curve (very flat) is the reason the Z is such and easy car to drive fast. You can kiss that goodbye with turbo. A SC will maintain a stock-like torque curve, but again adds weight.

Cobb, how about some titanium springs, valves, retainers and an 8000K+ RPM redline? I'm guessing another 30-50HP could be squeezed out on revs alone. With a good VVEL tune and maybe an exhaust cam, look out M3.

At first i thought they started this thread for attention. so people will buy the AP with no maps after a long year and some change later

Anyways. Im most likely going to skip the FI. I had fun with my last car (subaru). Id really like to get the 370z around 375-400 Flywheel HP NA so JoeyD im with you on that man.

The 370Z is supported in the latest firmware release of the AccessPORT and we've released the AccessTUNER Race for the car, but we do not have any base maps as of yet. The 370Z is currently sitting on the dyno and we've been working on the VVEL system so we should have maps ready here in a few weeks.

Not sure what happened to Cobb but it seems like they have been on a downhill path. Back when I had my 04 STi, Cobb seemed to get nothing but good reviews. Then I started to hear mixed reviews when I got my 09 STi. Now this from the Z community. Did Cobb change owners?

i don't think they are on a downward path and personally i can understand te developement time here as this car is a PITA. If they get the VVEL cracked they'll be miles ahead of uprev. When that happens i will go out and by one the next day if it opens my cars tuning up to me on my laptop.

Right... but just don't be saying "in a few weeks"... especially since it's been more than 10 months.
