Do you realize how many 6MT failures we've had w/o any HP increase at all? (there are 3 different threads on 6MT compaints in this section today alone) No way you can make a judgement on the 7AT with only one failure with any accuracy.

I test drove manual and auto yesterday at first time. I wanted to buy the manual one originally, but after the test-drove, I asked the dealer got me an automatic to try out. The clutch pedel was too light, no feeling; the shifter allowed to do easy-fast-shifting, but lack of feeling. The shifter was vibrated for whole time as well, my saleman claimed it's normal. I don't know, I never had this in Porsche's.
In comparison, the auto was way faster than transitional automatic, very responsive. The only complain is strange downshifting during lower gears, which it shifted automatically.
If I want a Z driving around town, auto would be the choice.

that is normal if you get the revs under a certain point. around 1000ish it downshift so it cant start stalling

Unfortunately the automatic downshift doesn't do downshift rev matching (as far as I can tell) so it can be a bit rough of a transition if you aren't hard braking already.

Basically the manual mode works best when you are driving a bit aggressively.

It absolutely does.

what the **** is the point of responding "reported" or "spam" to these things it doesn't make any sense, just report it and don't post like this. its just pointless.

I thought this was explained to you already?

I am not going to go at it with you.....but....I am putting down numbers equal too or greater than shumby was and my 7AT has been fine for a year. Shumby is the ONE SINGLE example of a 7AT issue and yet you want to slander the 7AT in general.

Based on the amount of 6MT issues on this forum (TONS), it would be easy for me to slander the 6MT......but I dont.

I agree with you 100%!

If someone posts "reported", then other members don't report the same post since it's already been reported to me. But if no one posts anything, then EVERYONE reports the same post assuming "no one" has reported the post already. There were times when a single post were reported 13-15 times because no one knew it was reported or no.

No need to get all worked up (dropping F bombs and such) on a simple instance such as this. Take it easy ...
