I test drove manual and auto yesterday at first time. I wanted to buy the manual one originally, but after the test-drove, I asked the dealer got me an automatic to try out. The clutch pedel was too light, no feeling; the shifter allowed to do easy-fast-shifting, but lack of feeling. The shifter was vibrated for whole time as well, my saleman claimed it's normal. I don't know, I never had this in Porsche's.
In comparison, the auto was way faster than transitional automatic, very responsive. The only complain is strange downshifting during lower gears, which it shifted automatically. If I want a Z driving around town, auto would be the choice. |

Unfortunately the automatic downshift doesn't do downshift rev matching (as far as I can tell) so it can be a bit rough of a transition if you aren't hard braking already.
Basically the manual mode works best when you are driving a bit aggressively. |

Based on the amount of 6MT issues on this forum (TONS), it would be easy for me to slander the 6MT......but I dont. |
