Default Replacing the Pulley not a good idea?

So I asked for a install quote on the NST Pulley kit from a local installer and this was his response:

I would shy away from the pulley change. Part of the mass and dampened ring on the factory crank pulley is to quiet the "noise" in the engine from a harmonics standpoint. The chains and oil pump are all on the front of that engine and if the factory could have saved money using a solid pulley over the 3 part one they did without sacrificing longevity they would have.
I was definitely set on getting it, but now I'm starting to reconsider. What do you guys think?
