Gear Grinding from 1st to 2nd
I'm hearing a grinding noise every time I go from 1st to 2nd. I have less than 1000 miles on the car (2010 370z roadster). At very low speeds I don't hear it much but if I'm shifting normally and coming out of 1st, I hear a distinctive grinding. I know the older Z's had issues with the transmission but I thought that would have been fixed for the 370. Anyone else have similar issues?

Thanks. I've already made an appointment. I just don't understand why this is happening on a new car. I also wanted to know if it's been happening to other people so I know how to deal with the dealership if they try anything.

i recommend you just do a transmission fluid change or do what you've already set in motion which is see the dealer. it should be under your warrantee. if you beat up on the car early then maybe your clutch is going out. sure you know it has a part in the break in. idk if the warrantee is a full coverage or if there is a deductible, first new car. see what the dealer says but if they are going to want you to pay alot (watever that is to you) then id start with the fluid change and just be gentle till its figured out. good luck and let us know what the dealer says.

P.S. i had a 05 scion tc before and the sincros were bad in the 05's and i think the 06 too. the transmissions were goin out early. alot of ppl had the tranny changed out early cuz of this and eventually they just fixed the problem. after they changed it there were no issues, i hope its not the case and just the fluids. another car with a transmission problem... thank god for warrantees.
