I'm reasonably sure it is, it's a Group V oil isn't it?

You got any info which shows it's not? Happy to learn more... The article posted on the RP site suggests that it doesn't but does it indirectly... but all the other wisdom on the internet (and yes i know the net isn't the best for info) suggests it has plenty of esters in it...

I've just shot an email to RP themselves for an answer... Will let you know of their response...

Guys I swear I lost hp and tq with Royal Purple 5W30 with this engine. and from what I have heard the 350Z HR guys have quoted the same. This stuff works wonders for the old VQ and it is what i ran in my G35C, but not in the Z, never again. It was my first mistake I made with this car. redline FTW!!

ester is just another sales gimmick, semi synthetic like any other, if you are going abuse the car use royal purple 10W40 in the summer and 5W30 in the winter. Summit racing has it at a great price. Ester doesn't handle heat very well so if you track it I would switch.

Nah there's a reason why we want ester for our cars...

well documented in the G37 world, the engine can tick due to the film breaking on the VVEL mechanism... The ester sticks to the hydrogenless diamond like coating we have on the moving parts of the engine stopping the ticking... It's why the Nissan Ester oil was created...

I don't abuse my car... we'll see how it goes with the RP... I may consider moving to Motul or Redline in the future...

Sorry I took so long to respond gumpy but looks like you got your answer from rp themselves. And as fAr as the ticking I have redline and the car still ticks it's just the way the motor sounds. Any good quality oil will be fine redline.. Amsoil.. Mobil 1. I'm using redline right now. May try something else though

I've personally used both Royal Purple and Amsoil. I strongly believe that Amsoil is the best oil money can buy.
