I just changed my oil yesterday for the first time. If you read through AK370's DIY oil change thread before and you know what to expect, its really simple and straightforward. I made a list of steps for myself, something basic and easy to understand so I wouldn't have to keep looking online. Just buy exactly what AK purchased (Filter, Filtermag, Magnetic drain plug, etc.) they are all quality products and the oil really comes down to you, whether you want to switch to synthetic or not, and what brand of oil you use. Just make sure you follow the manual's recommendations of API certified oils in a 5w-30 weight. For the oil cooler, I have no experience, but there are like 5 threads about DIY installs(ok, maybe not 5). Just do a search and read up! Good luck!

LOL!
A tip I would like to give is to use a strap wrench to remove your filter. Also you do not need to remove the 15+ bolts and engine splash sheild. The 4 bolts near the filter and drain plug is enough...

I'm the ignoramus in this forum, regarding automotive mechanics, but I can pass on some very interesting info' I read some time back. This engineer in the U.S. purchased a sample of every oil filter in the market; he proceeded to cut each one in ½. He discovered that Pureone by Purolator is THE best one. DISCLAIMER: I am NOT an engineer or mechanic, and am just selling it to you like I was sold on it. The best part is that they're not expensive at all!

No prob', tjlazer! I'm a Fed', and not in the private sector, anyway. Greetings!
Sorry, Vegitto. That's weird, man. How 'bout an e:Bay search?! Down here (Puerto Rico) their regular price is $6.95 plus 7% tax. When they're on sale, I just rush over to Pep Boys or Auto Zone or Advance Auto, and get them for $4.95, plus the politicians' tax. Not bad at all. Cheap insurance for a healthy engine! Amsoil oil filters are great, but are only really needed when using extended drain intervals.
