Default Aftermarket Clutch

I know a few people are running aftermarket clutches already and I need to get some feedback. I am going to have to get a new clutch, but was told that there are issues with the master cylinder. Can someone who has one already done chime in and tell me about your experiences?

I ask because of this thread:

Why not JWT? Anything better about these?

I've been talking with ZSpeedPerformance on that very subject. I had a lot of problems with my 2007 350Z Roadster and the Cylinder Secondary Clutch (CSC) combined with a JWT clutch, pressure plate and flywheel. It was always going spongy after a few hard runs and sometimes the hydraulics would fail completely. I eventually replaced the CSC and master clutch cylinder on the roadster myself and noticed a few things in the process. A lot of what I noticed is mentioned in that very article. Basically my CSC failure was due to alignment on the pressure plate, being a little off and causing CSC seal damage twice. I didn't want the same problems with the 370Z.

I presently have a clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, solid stainless clutch line, and modified CSC from them. I will be doing a descriptive pictorial after my index finger heals (bad sprain and have no strength in my hand) So far the CSC with the additional bearing sleeve looks better and should fit and operate better with a aftermarket clutch. I'll be comparing the Southbend CSC and stock CSC footprint on a stock, JWT and Southbend pressure plate to see how it looks.

So be patient and let my body heal. (who knew fingers can bend that way and that far?)

I will have some more info on this later and how a CSC actually works with pictures. It has been an educational, yet frightening, experience

Yeah...I was gonna say...LOL. That's actually throw-out bearing and slave cylinder combined in one part.

Soo...does the 370Z have a dual mass flywheel and a solid light-weight clutch disc?

Hey folks, just for those who are interested, I finally decided on the clutch. I went with the Southbend Stage 4 clutch. If anyone is interested in one PM me, I have a way to get a great deal and this clutch comes with the CSC fix.
