VDC - TCS actual launch test
Went for a drive with my buddy yesterday in his 2010 370z Coupe with Touring and Nav. I brought up the discussion that's been going on here on the Forum about the VDC and the TCS.
He did two deliberate launches; one with the VDC on, and one with it off. In both cases, BOTH rear tires left equal patches of rubber on the road. This Z does not have Viscous Limited Slip. |

I am missing what you are trying to say. The sport package comes with VLSD.

The test results I posted confirmed that if you have the VDC/TCS, you do not need the Viscous Limited Slip in order to catch even rubber with both rear tires when you launch a Z. |

You won't see any difference with a LSD if both wheels have equal traction.

the base or touring that are not sport have an open dif. It is not as good for traction as the LSD in the sport package Z's. I've had an open dif before in my 350z, and it would rarely ever leave equal two wheel marks. It was really bad for highspeed cornering too comparing it to the same car with a LSD installed. If you want an LSD, I would never recommend the factory VLSD, look into OS Giken or the carbon LSDs.

In general you shouldn't see any difference between an open and limited slip differential on a straight flat dry smooth surface -- given the tires are in equal condition. It should only kick in when there is a difference in rotation speeds ... i.e. one wheel is slipping.
