Same here, if you slam it too quick, lots of chatter......... if you disengage it smoothly, even in a hurry, no chatter.

Also, I notice it happens a lot after the car is warmed up. It happens everytime I'm parking the car into my garage (incline). Not sure what cause's the noise though.

I have found that I get a banging noise if I am in first and fully let off the gas and coast a couple seconds, then disengage the clutch, but if instead as soon as I get off the gas I disengage the clutch, it typically doesnt make the noise.

Jake man dont worry, I have the same chatter if I slam the clutch just like Antennahead suggested earlier. But if you dissengage the clutch slowly and in control, you'll be fine. You have to ease it in like a gentleman. You cant just ram it home. |

I get the same chatter in 1st… disengaging the clutch slower typically does the trick.

Mine does it as have other cars I've owned. The loudest was an '89 VW Corrado SLC. Usually you won't hear it unless you've got a nice acoustic reflector near the car (garage walls, nearby vehicles) and your window open.

So earlier I started my car, depressed the clutch to go into reverse and the sound was present. It happens randomly really which is strange. I also notice that if the sound is present, I can put my car in neutral, rev to about 3k rpm, and the sound/vibration disappears when I depress the clutch. Strange, I know. :-\

I have 08 350Z mt, and I'm experiencing the same problem.
I heard a louder sound after I shifted 1st gear to N and released the clutch. While in N, if I released the clutch, then I'd hear a quieter chattering sound. I'll try to release the clutch slower to see if the chattering will go away. Thanks for the info. |

OMG some of you act like you have never had to slip the clutch in a hurry! Some people sure make this board and unpleasent place to get answers from.
The answer is YES chatter is normal! Not just our cars, alot of cars do, the GT3 RS has such loud chatter some say it is like nails on a chalkboard. Having to some time slip the clutch in first is also normal to all you professional drivers we seem to have in this thread.
