Default Cons to Braille Battery?

I have my new Braille Battery waiting in my room, I figure I'm giong to put it in today since I need to adjust the cf doors as well. Anyone have any experience with them? Braille told me that for my application I wouldn't have a problem keeping this battery in the winter as well.

Yeah...I have friends that have gone this route. There is no free lunch when it comes to saving on size or weight with a battery. It just won't have the capacity you need day to day, under all weather conditions. In the winter, if you keep the car garaged and on a battery tender you might get away with it. Batteries degrade over time, and when you have less to start with, it'll get marginal in a shorter amount of time. Plan on replacing every 2 years or less.

There's a reason these are sized for a Lawn tractor......cause that's what they're for...

I had the really tiny one in my SR20DET 240. I didn't really worry about it because I live in Hawaii, so no battery killing cold weather here. I found that I needed to leave it on a battery tender if I didn't drive the car everyday. That was the only downside for me.

yeah you should be fine..i've had a couple 11.5 in my cars..only thing is you need to start it up at least once evry couple days or it will die..Or keep it on a charger..if your daily driving it you should be fine...they last about 1 1/2 - 2 years.

By the sounds of it, it's more trouble than what it's worth. Return the darn thing if you can!!!

took about an hour, weather is warming up in NY, in the worst case scenario I might need a battery tender but I don't mind

That sounds like an interesting project. Well I don't know much about Braille but the obvious thing is that it helps those who are blind read through another sensory - touch and you can also use it to write.

Way to bring back a thread from the dead. If you're interested the update is that the battery rocks, it is pretty reliable in the summer heat I don't know about the winter yet but I will winterize the Z anyway. No point driving her in the harsh cold NY winters she's a summer queen. As for overall feel, god damn the second I took her out after the install it was a noticeable difference. All in all since I got a good deal on it, installed it myself, and definitely felt the weight decrease I'm happy I did it and yea I'd recommend it.

I believe the OEM battery is somewhere around 25lbs and the Braille weights in at 11.5 or less. It was the missing piece to the rest of the carbon work I'd had done, once it was installed and I felt it I couldn't stop smiling. I still have a ways to go, seats, hatch, and anything else people can recommend.
