As someone with a non-Sport, open-diff Z, I can attest that ABLS definitely does come into play with VCD off. I find that it's pretty easy to provoke ABLS in VCD-off, low-speed, low-traction, tight-corner situations. |

hey guys, not sure if anyone has posted this yet. I know on some toyota and lexus vehicles, you start the vehicle, and press and hold the vdc button for 10 seconds, and everything from vdc and tc are disabled. So the other day I decided to try it out on my 2011 370z base model, and when you press and hold the button for about 15 seconds, it does completely disable the vdc and tc. You will also notice that you will not and cannot turn the vdc control back on once you completely disable it. You will have to shut the car off and restart it for the vdc to function as designed. Hope this helps.

How were you able to tell a difference? You can confirm that this turns off ABLS? If so, this is great news.

The pros who worked extensively on their race prepped z couldn't turn it off with just the button. This doesn't do anything except confirm that you don't want it back on for the duration of the time you're driving until you restart it. If you want it fully off, disconnect the Bosch modulator. I've had it disc for the last 2 years. Wouldn't have it any other way.

I was gonna be really surprised if it took 5 model years before someone figured out how to disable everything with just the VDC OFF button. Too good to be true, I guess.

I tested this out earlier today. If you hold the button, the light on the IP comes on as soon as you push it in. After what I estimate to be ~10 sec, the light on the IP goes off. I drove the car and confirmed that VDC was still enabled. I was unable to turn VDC OFF until I turned the engine off and restarted the vehicle.

Gents, Wanted to ask a question here relating to after you disable the control box next to the E - Brake. If you do this , does it record you have changed something via the ECU and thus void's warranty?
Also is there a write up or DIY of someone wiring a switch to the control box? |

After reading the full post on yaw I may have a new solution. Have the switch give a false input for the yaw rate. You would not get the lights on the dash and you would have full control to power over steer. The other change would be to cut the brake input to the ECU. This would enable full burnout!!!
It would be easy to add both functions to the VDC switch. Touch the switch and you have full control and keep ABS. VDC light would still be on!
