I'm guessing if it has a high compression of 11.1:1 which I think is around the compression quoted in the specs. The car should use 91octane and up.

Yes, absolutely, the owners manual says 91 octane min.

Don't run less than 91.

1) the motor is tuned from the factory for 91.
2) the motor is a high compression motor. Anything 10.1:1 or higher NEEDS 91 to run without detonation.

Also, don't use 89 or 87 and add octane boosters. That will not give you enough octane. Those boosters say "5 points", but in actuality, those boosters increase the octane less than 1 point. Usually 0.5 points. They're not worth the money in any case.

91-93 octane is optimal.

Unless it's an emergency... but you have to drive it like a senior citizen or you will knock the hell out of the cylinders

Always use premium, it's how the car was designed
