1) I've yet to crack 260F with even some seriously "get you thrown in jail" type driving after 20-30 minutes. The fact that you claim to have hit that or higher, well...shows how you have no clue what you're doing and where you're at. 2) You didn't know it was a race...or claim to. That gives them a serious advantage. 3) This is talking about a street race, which I imagine would cause this thread to get locked as street racing isn't condoned. |

Yeah. I had to use the bathroom so I decided to stop at this hotel which was close to use a bathroom. I decided to go to room 208 and there was this naked lady in there who was not my wife but I decided to use the bathroom only. But when I came out she attacked me really bad and some how got my pants undone and her mouth on me. My wife's not going to be mad right?
Later on she said your the best and said my name and gave me a thumbs up? I am so furious I got caught up in this! Several posts later some one says.. “Maybe she was some freaky person and that's her thing and shes not stock” my response: Well I kind of know her and shes not freaky so I really cant understand why she did it. And she is stock. The end. (this story is just fictitious on my part for the enjoyment of the thread)

just ruin the F'n part kannibul lol. yeah the car doesn't pull to terribly hard on an s2000 but it pulls after the thumbs down from the guy, you could have told him to STFU not only were you faster than him and he was upset about that, you could have beat him stock (trust me) and your car is bank compared to his so you win standing still hell you don't even have to be in it just walk out of a store or something and unlock it with the key fob and the guy should be bending over. Did you take the cooler off after the line exploded? I've had my car really hot with no cooler (over 260) and after ten minutes of 1500-2200 revs it'll be back down to 220(which is a good hot operating temp on a warm day without a cooler) going about 65-70 remember the car cools faster the faster you go with low revs and throttle.

Couple things:
1) Are you sure you weren't spinning your tires? If I suddenly floor it in 2nd, my tires light up. 2) What were your temps before trying to pass these guys? Your car's oil temp will NOT jump from 220 to 260 with a single aggressive acceleration. It takes some persistent, aggressive driving to get to 260.

I went to the San Antonio Raceway for Wednesday nights Test and Tune and had a blast. Check out my new sig. My car impressed the hell out of me especially the 109.49 trap speed with only HFC and Short Ram Intake (Takeda).
What were the temps when you ran you car? The night I ran the outside temps were at 42F I never got her past 230F hot lapping for like 10 runs. The Z really likes cool weather motor was running strong as hell that night. Here is the tread I wrote in the Track section on the forum: 13.165 @ 108.85 mph with HFC, SRI

to the OP (for what its worth).
I notes a little difference with the power delivery of my car when i have VDC off, and the Sync rev on. VS VDC on and Sync rev off.

lol kannibal. anyway you guys r missing the point. I was asking what the performance decrease is on the Z when oil temps r that high. no one has answered and I dont think anyone knows. I have recorded a few videos and I will show you there is something wrong with my Z. Today on the way to work I was in 5th gear at roughly 50-65 mph the entire time and the temp stayed at 210 degrees. later once I can get a chance I will get a video showing how fast it will go from 200-260. its really wierd

besides the oil temp getting hot, you have to remember the engine is getting hot too and causing heat soak resulting in power loss. So if your temps were already up there then the engine temps were probably too. Are engines run really hot and probably heat soak more than other cars like 4 bangers.

Why does everyone think he was street racing?
He was passing two other cars that ended up street racing, he waited for the road to open and pass and they were waiting for the road to open to race.

jesus. heres what happened. I (me) driving around on back roads above the speed limit. yes i stated above the speed limit. i came upon 2 cars, one was tail gating the other. the speed limit is 45 mph and they were doing approximately 30. i passed them once it was LEGAL to pass them. when I was about to pass the S2K he gunned it. Since I had WOT I figured Id humor him but it didnt turn out that way. Then like 1 mile later the last part of the back road ends in an uphill straight. the civic was right behind me and I wanted to see if my Z would get away from it, it didnt. Thats what happened. the civic wasnt a race, i was already infront him him.
Furthermore, when I get pulled over for speeding, if and when the cop runs my plates he hands me back my info once he receives the information and tells me to slow down, no ticket, no questions, nothing.why? because I have more than likely backed that chippie or sherrif up in a vehicle stop and if not, I probably will eventually. so if I want to do a little spirited drive early in the morning, I am going to as long as traffic is light. Ill post the vids as soon as I get home. In 5th gear at 60 mph is under 3K rpms and thats usually my normal drive through that area. I didnt expect to get flamed and I am asking for some knowledge on the matter but hey its a forum. And unfortuantely in my opinion, the Z as a stock car isnt what I expected it to be. I am thinking of buying another Oil Cooler from GTM and having them installing it which will more than likely solve my issue then hopefully I can go to cal speedway or willow springs with many of the forum members in so cal here.

Also, you said you were going uphill and at those engine temps you are getting massive amounts of heat soak into the air intake system. Overall I would just say your car was just running hot, I know your past with an oil cooler, but a better intake & oil cooler at those temps will help keep the car running at maximum output even when hot.

Why would you buy another GTM Oil Cooler after the last incident? Or are you referring to upgrading to the larger setrab cooler?
