Check Engine Light +
So when I was going to leave work I noticed that the check engine light was on as soon as I started the car. Worried me a little bit but nothing to get to worked up about.
As I was driving home I noticed that the gear revving felt a little wierd. There was some lag when trying to accelerate. Also when I was sitting in neutral I would rev it up to say 4k RPMs, release the gas and the RPMs would come down normally and it would then suddenly stop at 1500 then slowly drop down and idle at 1100. Is 1100 a normal idle for everyone else? I'm not sure if this means much I just feel like something is wrong. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Only mod I have is the Stillen Gen3s. -Nevers |
Mine did the exact same thing....the gas cap was loose.

Yeah this happend with my sentra last year. Tighten up your gas cap.

I tightened the gas cap, filled the tank, drove it probably 5 miles and the light is still on. Hopefully it will go off after a little more driving

Could always take it to autozone if it remains on and use the scanner to get the code. (it's free)

Ill probably take it to autozone first.
What do you think the chance that the gen3s are causing the light? |
You'd be the first..
You also might look into a cheap code reader.. with the range they can read these days, you'll probably end up using it more than you think.. or find a buddy with one. That being said, you could also check the installation.. if you somehow had a loose silicone connection or something, and bringing in unmetered air, that would definitely do it. Is it a check engine light (CEL) or a service engine soon (SES) light? |

If you installed recently it could be the MAF Sensor got a little dirt in it during installation. That could cause RPM's to act up. |
P0300 multiple random misfires. I'm gonna reset the ECU see if it comes back. Any other advice?

OBD-II Trouble Code: P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0300 - Check Engine Light Diagnostic Trouble Code Description Basically it seems that almost anything can trigger that code. I'd say just reset it and see what happens |
