Check Engine Light +

**** so I reset it back on the 20th, and it came back today this time p0305, Cylinder 5 misfire! WTF! Anyway I have an appt to take it in

Anyway I have an appt to take it in tomorrow bright and early to the dealership, any advice or words of what to expect from tomorrow? What should or shouldnt I do?

Im having the same prob. My car is throwing a p0300 too. I had reset it but it came back.

I idle at 600. Anything higher than that and the car is cold or ur idling high

my check engine light came on also but this was after I checked my oil and water in my radiator could it be due to that also I left the hood up for an entire night and put water in my radiator any help would be great thanks

Highly unlikely any of that caused a CEL. Go get the code scanned and we can help diagnose it further.

It'll clear the code, but if the code is indicative of a larger issue you won't know what's going on with the car. Get the code scanner and figure out what you're dealing with, then clear it.

Codes should clear once the issue is resolved. Check your air filter and all the intake connections. Mine threw misfire codes when my intake was adjusted by the dealer and it was found falling off. Stillen intake, 2010

Killing the power to the ECM is what I would consider an all-else-has-failed option. As per Chuck33079, any DTCs will be cleared, plus, the ECM will have to relearn the engine and the emissions system will not pass until you have made several trips.

It doesn't hurt anything, so give it a try if you like. But grab the DTCs before you do.
