Engine output graph

Hi

does anyone have an engine output graph ? you know the one where there's power on one axis and torque on the 2nd x-axis?

I've seen dyno outputs but wondering iff nissan released an official one.

Sorry if it has been posted before, i searched graph and things like that but didn't show anything.

Damn you Vipor.
On a real note, you will not get an official one from Nissan probably. They supply the top end HP/Torque numbers and that is about it, your best bet is to use the supplied dyno sheets from members here or stop by a local shop and do a dyno run yourself.

I agree. Also, just to add to theDreamer's remarks, keep in mind that the output of every 370Z will vary to a certain degree. Not only that, but dynos vary from one another as well. Heck, put the same car on a dyno, wait a few hours and put the same car back on the same dyno and the numbers will most likely differ. That's part of the reason manufacturers don't publish 'official' dyno graphs that represent the output of every instance of a model built. All it'd take is for one person to dyno their particular car and get lower numbers and accusations of misrepresentation would start to fly.

When the VQ37VHR was on the Ward's 10 best engines list, they usually have a graph for each engine. So it's probably on the internet somewhere.

...I thought the 3.7 liter engine put out 332 ponies, not 330. No big difference, though.

I have to wonder how "real" that graph is, though. I mean, it's def. not hp at the wheels. And what, it doesn't start producing any hp until 4k rpm?

The american companies are a lot better about making their output curves available than the japanese are...I'm not sure why that is.

porsche puts the graphs in the model brochure

I'm guessing it's from an engine dyno with a lot of smoothing. Not sure why HP only starts tracking at 4,000 rpm... probably because you don't want to be below 4,000 RPM in this car!
