I'm only basing this on what I've read and reviews. And it seem like it was just a step up from the others. The OSG had reviews such as smooth engagement and disengagement which it seem to be more predictable especially out of the exits. Also along with that is how highly recommendable it was from Forged after I choose this. They have been using the OSG on both there GTR with nothing but smiles. I also like the fact of the metal plates used inside the diff along with the lower maintence. I'll have a better personal review later this week. I'm here currently having it install.

The Quaife has a very different feel to it. Some like it and some don't. For track use if you lift an inside wheel, such over some curbing or elevation changes the differential essentially becomes an open diff once again. Locking style LSD's provide uniform thrust potential from each tire, after corner entry once you come back to power. This not only inspires a lot of confidence but also allows the driver to come in power earlier than with an convention LSD or open differential.

All you shush about the GT-R...haha...I've actually been spending more time in the GT3, which also happens to have an OSG differential.

I believe it was THMotorsports (sponsor on my native forum =P ) that quoted me that.. it was just a week ago. They're also all over eBay for that price if you trust it. Personally I'd go with the sponsor..

I agree that the major downside to the Quaife is if you lift a tire. Is the OSG just as quiet as the Quaife? I might have to look into it some.. but I'm guessing it costs a good chunk more with that fancy name tag. =P

I'll have my review up tonight on the OSG. It's worth it no doubt. I'd cheap out of somethings but a diff I will not.

Yeah, I'm not sure I want to deal with the osg maintenance. Plus with how little I'll be tracking, I doubt I'll deal with much lifting. I managed to deal with the torsen on s2ks.

The maintenance is not bad unless you track often. I plan to change the diff oil about every other oil change. But thats me. It could go longer under milder circumstances What's 90 bucks?

A decent dinner out

I've heard the OSG is not too invasive, but I'm torn about whether it will be overkill for me. There were a handful of times in s2000's I complained about not be able to get throttle on when I had lifted a tire, but it really wasn't that bad. I'm running even softer suspension on the Z, so I should be able to tolerate it.

I can tell you one thing, that anything is far better than the VLSD.

The diff only holds < 1 quart, what are you putting in there? Johnny Walker Gold?

No doubt on that. I've got it even worse with the open.

Not sure how big the cans were. But we started on the second can. I used OSG fluid. I was standing there when they did it.

How do these various diffs affect understeer/oversteer on corner exit (on the gas). Assuming you have traction, too much locking = understeer, correct?
