Z1 shorty Headers not fitting

So I've posted on here before about my recent group of mods and my troubles but today's I'm not sure anyone will have any tips. I purchased z1 shorty headers for the 370z I got them on the passenger side fully tightened and after much pushing and turning I almost have them on the driver side but I just can't get it. I saw something about someone removing some of the studs and you can get it but I would really like to avoid messing with studs. I have the headers past the steering rod and about ready to line up with the head studs but I just need like half an inch of space and I don't know how to gain it. I have been struggling with it for hours I was just hoping for some secret strategy to get the holes lined up or something. Thanks

Contact z1 yourself, they usually respond within a day and have some good advice. I used the “ask a question about this item” on their website before.

The driver side is a major PITA. Figure on 5+ hrs, Depending on your skill set. You have to remove the heat shield on the oem exhaust manifold. Next remove the steering shaft from the rack and pinion. But before you do that. Secure the steering wheel so that it DOSN'T move. This should give you enough work. It may help too, to remove a couple of the studs.
