If the above directions are only meant for rear timing chain replacement, I see why it would say never to remove. I have seen similar over the past 30+ years

If the above directions are only meant for rear timing chain replacement, I see why it would say never to remove. I have seen similar over the past 30+ years of reading shop manuals. That doesn't mean it can't be repaired as Nissan sells the parts.
What was that dealer's suggested method or repair then, new short block?
