Keep the oil topped from now on. You may keep driving for the summer without tearing it down yet if you don't beat on it but a compression test will be needed soon. You should consider an aftermarket oil cooler and oversize oil pan to lower engine oil temperature. I change my oil every 6,000 km. 8,000 miles is too much in my opinion. Check your oil level regularly. VQ engines drink oil under heavy load and downshifts.
