Pressure plate bolt snap..

Hey everyone. Actually got my tranny on the lift ready to go in. Notice I had one bolt not tightened! So take it out and it looks fine…put it in to tq to 29 ft lbs and it snaps.do I replace ALL the pressure plate bolts when I redo this all.. it it’s a brand new setup from comp.

idk the answer to your question, but I would suggest checking/calibrating your torque wrench as well.

Just getting a new/better one. Unfortunately mine was brand new and hasn’t given me an issue for the rest of stuff but this sucks. Just curious if these can re used or not. I have a spare coming for tomorrow if so and get this done this weekend

I think those bolts are TQ to yield. If so, all of them will need to be replaced. One time use bolt.

Alright I kinda figured -appreciate it

If it has a set torque, I wouldn't think so. Torque to yield usually has an angle measure.

I'd say his torque wrench is mis-reading, or set incorrectly.

FSM calls for initial 11 ft.lbs and final 29 ft.lbs does NOT say to replace bolts.

At the end of the day this came back to being my fault. Ordered a new bolt- taking the snapped one out of the flywheel this afternoon and reassemble. Not hard but it’s what happens when you hurry. Thanks for the responses
