Gallery Gaskets questions

Hi all long time lurker,

I have a 2013 370z with 35k miles and I'm looking at replacing my gallery gaskets. I've ordered the z1 kit (New oem gasket and allen key bolts) during black friday. But as I've seen, it seems like eps gasket is the go to for people here. There's also conceptzperformance kit gasket but I havent seen reviews about it much. Should I just install the one I have or get the better kit from other seller? I do want the better gasket for my car, but just looking at other opinions.

Heres the CZP one:

Thanks all.

I used the Z1 kit and I haven't read any complaints about it. Historically, EPS has been the go-to kit but I have used Z1 for literally everything and they haven't steered me wrong yet.

I am curious though, what makes you think your gaskets are in need of replacing? If you have a 2013 it should have come from the factory with the better gaskets. The 350z and 2009-2011 370z where the most affected.

Just preventative maintenance, but admintuning's FAQ stated that all 2007-2013 nissan vq engines might be all victims too. And also looking to get e-tuned some time next year. I am trying to hoard parts, just so I can install them all in one go.

admintuning. Here we go again.

Someone say knock sensor ? :wtf2::rofl2:

Jokes aside, I wouldn't worry too much about this on such a low mileage car. Yes some people had the issue but they were few of them and at much higher mileage for the 370Z.

If you consider to boost your car, that might be something to do in the future.

What 370Z years are affected by this gasket issue? All years or just a subset? Thanks.

There was a discussion about it here :

If I'm not mistaken, the model before 2013 were affected. The best way to see this, is to add an oil pressure gauge.

There is a DIY for the gauge as well as the gallery gasket.

Rusty mentionned that he wanted to replace it in 2018. @Rusty : Did you do it since then ? Oil pump as well ?

It's not just the older paper gaskets that have issues. There is a documented issue of the screws backing out over time even on vehicles with the newer gaskets from Nissan.

I went with the EPS kit because the gaskets are all metal and it comes with new hardware. My understanding is the revised Nissan gaskets are still paper with metal now woven into them and the hardware has not changed. I have no personal experience with the CZP or Z1 kits.

The fact of the matter is any of the newer gaskets are mostly likely just fine to use. Even the hardware issue can be addressed by punching a dimple into the screw head after it is seated. It will be years before there is enough data to determine whether one gasket kit is truly better/worse/same than the others.

Yes I heard about this also, the screws are getting loose sometime. People did use some threadlocker (Loctite Blue), no ?

I thought it was the solution for this : new updated gallery gasket + threadlocker and you are good to go.

JARblue 12-15-2021 11:00 AM

Loctite works great as long as the bolt holes are clean and dry. Only put it on the first few threads - don't want to overdo it and have loctite overflowing out of the hole.

I have a Sucker Punch oil pump and ESP gaskets sitting on a shelf. My oil pressure is still good at an idle. 37 psi.

Should I hold off on the gaskets then? I dont have an oil pressure gauge installed, but the car still feels good when I drive it. Have no plans on boosting.

I would check the oil pressure before doing anything. Installing a gauge is a fun project or you could check the pressure with an external one. This is what I have in my tool box that works well...

I have a 2013 and had also read I shouldn’t have the problematic gaskets. That said, I’m at 88k and plan to boost, so this might be a good low cost option to avoid the pain of installing yet another gauge.

I have a 2012 370 that has been supercharged for 10k miles making 543whp. I have 78k miles on the motor and no issues.
