Default Re-Learn procedure for 6mt gear position module?

15 sport tech ( rev match ) 6mt ....

So, i a had a wonderful experience ripping out the gear position module wire when i put the engine/tranny back in to the car. Damn trans heat shield mount must have cought it. Normally easy, but 2 turbos slung on the sides make it that much more exciting ( frustrating)

As you can imagine, the dash cluster no longer had a gear number or an s for s-mode. Now, short of buying a new 1000 dollar module and wire combo ( wire comes with module) I bought a new wire from a part out situation for much less.

Once back in, still no display.. so i reset the ECU.. the s mode came back, but the R ( racemode, or reverse, you decide) is the only gear displayed. no matter what gear im in..

I know that some modules have a re-learn.. I was wondering if anyone here knew of a re-learn procedure for this module...? thx

Same thing happened to me the pigtail got damaged I ended up making my own pigtail and epoxying it that was 4 months ago. it’s not really a module it’s just a magnetic sensor similar to a crank sensor, no relearning needed try clearing code if it doesn’t go away either you got a bad connection or the magnetic sensor the black box is damaged

Btw I think I remember when I was testing it it defaults to R if the black box is out of the transmission because it needs to read the position of the shift forks so make sure your installing it back for it to work properly
