New ecm installed

I installed a new ecm onto my car (same part number). Car starts normally but now the gear indicator is flashing on “N” and doesn’t change when I shift gears. Why is it doing this? Also do I have to reprogram the new ecu?

Did u just by an ecu and install it? Or did the dealer do it? The Vin needs to be set on the ecu and it needs to have an appropriate rom for the car.

I'm guessing you somehow got around nats, do you have red key light on the dash

Yea the key light was on but the new ecu is kind of irrelevant now. I had bought it because i was certain that it was messed up because my charging system is bad right now and i thought the ecu was at fault but it wasn't. So i kinda wasted my money but thank you for replying regardless.
