Leaking Automatic Transmission
I'm posting to see if anyone has any idea of what the problem might be, my transmission is leaking from the front of the bell housing, I have previously changed the torque converter to one that was built by a company locally, and a flex plate, the transmission started leaking so we took it off and changed the front seal, the transmission is still leaking from the front when the car warms up.

Sounds like maybe the torque converter you had installed has a hair line crack in it.
Also, double check to see if the fluid isn't coming from the top of the bell housing out from the vent tube. This would indicate that the transmission has been overfilled. |

Thanks will be doing that, I'm sure its not coming out of the vent tube, its leaking from the bottom of the bell housing, I was pretty sure that was it, going to take it back to the guys so they can redo the torque converter. |
Pump seals can be a pita to change sometimes, but the new torque converter is welded together…unsure if shop pressure tested for leaks.
Also, the vent tube runs up a hose & connects at a bell housing bracket…ensure it hasn’t fell down or is pinched/plugged off. as this would cause it to build pressure & leak out somewhere :ugh2: |
