service engine soon. light.

2011 370 z Nismo. , got a service engine.light and only symptom I notice. is increased idle== entire time running. only mod is fast intensions exhaust and cat delete down pipes. fast intensions. so all but long tube headers. second time or third. and will eventually reset back to normal. anyone have. a clue. 28 k miles. just annoying. had to shop one. but wasn't doing it of course when I took it. thx D

Get an OBD scan tool and see if there are any DTCs.

chk engine light. code scanned

Hey hi. got the code from the 2011 nizmo p0171 system to lean or rich. in creased idle is the current symptom and chk eng light displayed. vehicle clear out the code then run normal then display the chk engine and increased idle again normal driving conditions. ? list can be of a variety of causes. and one. have this before. I did look for vacuum leaks. etc. no go. thx. D

First thing I'd do is clean the MAFs. It's an easy job (two screws per MAF) and cheap (all you need is a screw/nut driver and a can of MAF spray).

If that doesn't work, I'd look into the O2 sensors.

code p0171

yes im going to do more tomorrow. bank one is the p0171 code. the passenger side of motor. p 0174 is drivers side. so im making some head way. and will get a can mass air flow cleaner. and then more on from there.

cleaned sensors. no luck there cleared code. test ride. threw code again.same symptom s. increased idle rpm.

so looking again listening for a rpm increase while a touch of carb cleaner around vacuum hoses. etc. no luck.

Too lean or rich codes that come back after some miles are often tracked to o2 sensors for long term fuel trim. I would replace the secondary o2 sensors (the ones after the cats) and see if that helps.

got the z squared away

the mass air sensor. bank side of engine. , passenger side. was the culprit. back home and a fresh bath after salty road ride. under carriage flush. so spring time will be new tires. Didnt want to start guessing on parts after we got the code from the scanner. as covered about 6 items from fuel pump to mass air sensor. o2 sensors etc. leading edge auto sport in west Chester pa. solved it thx. guys. d
