Right Rear Corner Box Purpose????

I was under Zed today, my 2019 NISMO, preparing to mount my axle-back exhaust that arrives in a few days, and I spot this: a plastic box with three fluid or gas lines attached and one electrical connector. This is at the extreme bottom of the car on the rear right hand (passenger) side, adjacent to the bumper. I assume this is part of the fuel system? Perhaps the fuel pump? Although I doubt that as most all modern cars have it in the tank.

So what is this box, you Z experts? Thank you and Z on!

I believe that would be your evap canister

I know what it is, I remember it having to be removed as part of the fast intentions cat back install. But what does it actually do and why was it OK to remove it?

The evap canister. Knowing what it is and knowing what it does are two different things right? Troll

Step 1. Type "evap canister" into Google
Step 2. Press Enter or Return
Step 3. Activate eyeballs and inspect the screen content Google returns
Step 4. Connect eyeballs to conginitive centre of the Brain

EVAP canister:

The EVAP canister houses 1-2 pounds of activated charcoal that acts like a sponge by absorbing and storing fuel vapors until the purge valve opens and allows the vacuum of the engine intake to siphon the fuel vapors from the charcoal into the engine intake manifold.

I call that "a very expensive box of charcoal"; some of them are upwards of $700.
