JWT cam shims?

Hello, I was hoping someone could help clear something up for me please. I am currently looking into putting the JWT C2 cams in my Z but do not understand what the shims in the kit are for. To my knowledge when adjusting the valves I would just replace the factory bucket style shim to correct the clearances. Not sure if this pertains to those shims but my Z is also a 2009 and to my knowledge needs to have the factory bucket/shim replaced with an updated version anyways...

If you have a 09 you want to make sure your cam buckets are dlc coated. Depends on when the motor was built certains 09 models don’t come with the dlc coated cam buckets.
