There are no down sides to an oil cooler for someone in your climate. In colder climates an oil cooler can cause the engine oil to take too long to get to temperature.
One thing to keep in mind is that the Nismo cars will require slight modifications to fit the oil cooler. |

I visited the local dealer and he told me that Nissan recommends installing an oil cooler. So no warranty voided.

An oil cooler definitely wouldn't hurt in that climate. Of course if an oil cooler connection goes or something like that they could void your engine warranty. Otherwise you're all good.

No drawbacks, and strongly recommended for just about every 370Z. You can purchase a thermostat which will allow the oil to get up to temp quickly.

I drive around in the 117 degree summer in stop and go traffic for an hour, no issues. This overheating thing is something that got blown way out of proportion. Unless you're tracking your car in the heat, you don't have to shell out the cash.

Last summer, we saw 240F+ cruising around town. 2 angry laps and you are in limp mode. That's a bit too hot for comfort.

I'm not being a fanboy here -- both issues were overblown. The overall point is that neither should change your opinion of Nissan/Toyota/etc, really. edit: also if you can overheat the 370 while driving on the street then you pretty much are driving it as hard as you would be on the track and the point still stands.

Your post is full of fail but I'll reply anyway. Anyone can overheat any car by putting it in 2nd gear and rev it to 4000 rpm for an extended period of time. That's exactly what the person did in video. driving worse than on the street if ur racing someone? umm, okkay, so now you are a street racer? 90% of the member here don't drive their Z at low RPM. As I've said before, don't go through all the headache of getting a Z. You need a Lexus in your life |
